Relieve, Renew & Restore the lives of the Kinston Community Dedicated to the Memory of Mr. Ronnie E. Wilson Nakikia A. Walton and Alsadra R. Wilson are natives of Kinston, NC. They were raised in a single parent home by their father Ronnie E. Wilson on 700 Elma Drive in TarHeel Court. While their father worked shift work for DuPont Kinston Plant, they would often stay with their grandparents “down the hill” on 1203 Sycamore Road. Seventeen years ago, much of the city of Kinston, NC was destroyed by catastrophic flooding as a result of Hurricane Floyd, including parts of Sycamore Road. Unfortunately, they have been hit once again by what is considered to be another 500 year flood as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Comparatively, Hurricane Floyd of 1999 and this year’s Hurricane Matthew have both caused horrific flooding in the state of North Carolina. Many families have been displaced and living in local shelters due to this year’s storm in the Lenoir County. Most have lost everything and will not be able to return to the place they once called home. The Community of Kinston has rallied together to feed those who are in need of a good hot meal. Many people have volunteered their time or made donations of food, water, clothing, etc. Many have also opened up their homes to other family and friends who have been displaced or left with nothing. Nakikia A. Walton and Alsadra R. Wilson are natives of Kinston, NC and would like to give back to the community of Kinston in memory of their father. Ronnie E Wilson was born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina. He lived there most of his life until he relocated to Durham, North Carolina to be near his children due to a progressive chronic Illness. On October 6th, 2016 the sunset on the life of Ronnie E. Wilson at Pruitt Health Carolina Point Nursing Facility in Durham NC. His remains were entrusted to Mills Funeral Home located in Kinston. During the planning of Ronnie’s Home Going Celebration, there were many obstacles presented to the family as flooding was affecting travel in and out of the city of Kinston and many roads were closed due to complete washout. The family knew that it was Ronnie’s desire to have his final resting place be the same place he lived most of his life. By the Grace and Mercy of God, his service was held in Kinston at St. John FWB Church on October 14, 2016 with many of his relatives and close friends in attendance. During the Home Going Celebration, the family learned how much Ronnie worked for his church and community. They witnessed the indelible impression he left on the lives of so many he touched. Family and friends realized if Ronnie was still with them and in good health, he would be one of many offering his assistance to the people in the Kinston Community. Before Ronnie’s passing he signed the responsibility of his property to his daughter Nakikia. After much discussion with her brother Alsadra, they had both agreed the mobile home still located at 700 Elma Drive should be sold as it needs lots of work. However, after seeing the devastation in their hometown and how many people have been affected, they have since agreed to do something to assist the families in the community where they were raised in Loving Memory of their father. Nakikia A. Walton is the Founder and President of 501 c 3 non-profit organization K.I.M. (Keep It Moving) 4U, Inc. The mission of the organization is to empower the community through awareness, education, advocacy and supportive services that aid in the understanding of prevention or management of Chronic Diseases. Unfortunately, she and Alsadra lost their father due to chronic cerebral vascular disease. K.I.M. would like to honor the memory of Ronnie E. Wilson by helping Nakikia and Alsadra assist a family who lost everything as a result of flooding in Kinston caused by Hurricane Matthew. Offer of Residency for a family reported to Social Services:

Health care providers are treating a huge amount of foot ailments for homeless individuals. These ailments range from trench foot to skin infections, from frostbite to nail diseases. The best way to prevent such conditions is to keep feet clean and dry – very difficult if you spend your days outside. Rain-soaked feet, ill-fitting shoes, constant standing and diseases like diabetes take their toll on the feet of homeless people.
Homeless men and women can walk up to 35 miles ...per day through our city streets and often have shoes that are ill fitting and wet/damp socks. Clean, white socks are a staple of homeless health care and First Aid for homeless individuals. Dry socks, good fitting shoes are key to reducing the cost of medical care for our homeless men and women.
K.I.M. (Keep It Moving) 4U, Inc. needs your help with our "Healthy Feet on the Street" project to provide men and women white socks, shoes (new or gently used sneakers) and nail clippers to those living on our city streets. We are also asking for personal hygiene products (soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorants, sanitary wipes, etc.) and non-perishable foods (crackers, Vienna sausage, protein bars, water, etc.) to create survival kits for the homeless men and women living in shelters and on the streets. Will you help?
Starting in December 2014, we will begin collecting TAX Deductible items to make survival kits and provide white socks for the homeless. For your participate in our "Healthy Feet on the Street" project you will be mentioned on nationwide media outlets The Keep It Moving Blog Talk Radio Show and Simply Elevated Magazine's Health and Wellness section. If you or your organization has a desire to help people in need, please email the organization at [email protected] or call 919.964.0546. Please see the list of items needed to make the survival kits for the homeless. You can also visit our website at www.kim4uinc.weebly.com to make a tax deductible donation to purchase these items.
